Jamala Madikwe Royal Safari Lodge | Game Reserve

4 Star Madikwe Game Reserve image
Jamala Madikwe Royal Safari Lodge is secluded in the south-eastern section of the world-acclaimed Madikwe Game Reserve. With its understated style, subtle earth- inspired colours, metallic finishes, and enduring charm, this elite five-star Safari Lodge perfectly complements the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, and more than lives up to its name, Jamala being the Swahili word for “natural elegance.”

Incidentally, Safari is the Swahili word for “journey” or “to travel,” a term that has become synonymous with romantic African adventure.

From its concealed position beneath a canopy of age-old Leadwood trees, the deck- fringed main lodge is designed to offer magnificent views of the open savanna and the watering hole which is favoured by the resident wildlife – ideal for indulging in a “sofa safari.” Alternatively, venture up to the watchtower for an up-close- and-personal encounter with the myriad of birdlife and impish Vervet monkeys that frequent the forest.

The Jamala Royal can also be booked on an exclusive-use basis for a family or group getaway. In this case, a minimum of eight guests is needed to qualify for exclusive-use and children of all ages are accepted. Adventure activities include early morning and evening game drives in an open 4X4 vehicle, accompanied by experienced guides as well as exceptional bird watching.

When it comes to spending some downtime, enjoy a refreshing dip in the Lodge’s crystal-clear lap pool. While away the afternoon playing boules. Stay in shape with a workout in the well-equipped gym. Or spoil yourself with a therapeutic treatment in the luxurious Jamala Madikwe Royal Spa.
