Incidentally, Safari is the Swahili word for “journey” or “to travel,” a term that has become synonymous with romantic African adventure.
From its concealed position beneath a canopy of age-old Leadwood trees, the deck- fringed main lodge is designed to offer magnificent views of the open savanna and the watering hole which is favoured by the resident wildlife – ideal for indulging in a “sofa safari.” Alternatively, venture up to the watchtower for an up-close- and-personal encounter with the myriad of birdlife and impish Vervet monkeys that frequent the forest.
Come mealtimes, delight in a gourmet dining experience in the firelit Boma or under brilliant night skies on the “Star deck” of the main lodge. All meals are freshly prepared by award-winning Nico Verster who aims to please with his gastronomic fare that is sure to be a feast for the senses, and that earned Jamala Madikwe the award for “Best Safari Cuisine in Africa 2014/2015.” Meals can also be prepared on demand.
